1. Purpose

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of distil.work ("Service"), including the rights and obligations between you ("User") and the Service operator ("we," "us," or "our").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Definitions

• "Service" means the AI-powered resume analysis, scoring, structural audit, improvement suggestions, and automated refinement features provided by distil.work.
• "User" means any person who agrees to these Terms and uses the Service.
• "Content" means resume text, job description text, and other text data that Users input into the Service.
• "Analysis Results" means scores, feedback, improvement suggestions, and other output generated by the Service based on User Content.

3. Changes to These Terms

• These Terms become effective upon posting within the Service or through other appropriate means.
• We may modify these Terms from time to time, provided the changes do not violate applicable law. We will provide at least 7 days' prior notice within the Service.
• Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of modified Terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.

4. Service Description

• The Service provides CV Review (scoring, structural audit, improvement suggestions) and CV Refine (AI-powered automated refinement) features.
• The Service is currently provided free of charge and includes advertising (Google AdSense display ads and rewarded video ads).
• The Service stores User-submitted text and Analysis Results in anonymized form to improve analysis quality. Stored data contains no user-identifying information (no accounts, names, or emails). For details, see our Privacy Policy.
• We may modify the content, features, or operation of the Service with prior notice.
• While we aim to provide the Service continuously, it may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, or force majeure events.

5. User Obligations

Users must not:

• Input or misuse another person's resume or personal information without authorization
• Access the Service through automated means (bots, scraping, etc.) for bulk usage
• Interfere with the normal operation of the Service
• Use ad-blocking technology to fraudulently obtain rewards from rewarded advertisements
• Commercially resell Analysis Results generated through the Service
• Violate applicable laws or these Terms

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 User Content

All rights to the resume and job description text you input remain yours. The Service stores your Content and Analysis Results in anonymized form for analysis processing and service quality improvement. Stored data is not used to identify or contact you and is automatically deleted after the retention period specified in our Privacy Policy.

6.2 Analysis Results

You may freely use Analysis Results (scores, feedback, refined resume text) generated by the Service for your personal purposes. If you share Analysis Results with third-party services or platforms, those platforms' privacy policies will apply, and you assume responsibility for any resulting data handling.

6.3 Service Assets

Intellectual property rights in the Service's design, software, algorithms, and trademarks belong to us.

7. AI Analysis Limitations

• Analysis Results are for reference only; final decisions are your responsibility.
• AI models may contain biases and do not provide specialized advice for specific industries or roles.
• AI analysis does not guarantee employment outcomes.
• Anonymized analysis data may be used to improve AI analysis quality.

8. Advertising

• The Service displays advertisements through Google AdSense, including display ads and rewarded video ads.
• Viewing a rewarded ad unlocks access to Analysis Results. If no ad inventory is available, results are provided free of charge.
• Responsibility for advertising content lies with the respective advertisers; we do not endorse the content of advertisements.
• For information about cookies and data processing related to advertising, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

9. Service Restrictions

• We may restrict or suspend access if a User violates these Terms or interferes with the normal operation of the Service, after prior warning.
• Fraudulent use (automated access, excessive API calls, etc.) may result in immediate restriction of access.

10. Limitation of Liability

• THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
• WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
• EXCEPT FOR DAMAGES CAUSED BY OUR WILLFUL MISCONDUCT OR GROSS NEGLIGENCE, OUR MAXIMUM LIABILITY IN CONNECTION WITH THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID FOR THE SERVICE DURING THE RELEVANT PERIOD. AS THE SERVICE IS CURRENTLY FREE, THIS AMOUNT IS ZERO.

11. Disclaimers

• We are not liable for inability to provide the Service due to force majeure events including natural disasters, war, government actions, or hacking.
• We are not liable for service disruptions caused by User fault (incorrect input, device issues, etc.).
• We are not responsible for the content, products, or services of third-party websites or advertisements linked from the Service.

12. Privacy and Contact

The processing of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

• These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea.
• In the event of a dispute, both parties shall make good faith efforts to resolve it through negotiation.
• If negotiation fails, the Seoul Central District Court of Korea shall have exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance.
• For EU residents, the laws and jurisdiction of your country of residence may apply. You may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform (ODR).
• For California residents, nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the California Consumer Legal Remedies Act or other applicable California consumer protection laws.

14. Service Termination

• We may terminate the Service for business reasons with at least 30 days' prior notice within the Service.
• Upon termination, User data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

15. General Provisions

• Severability: If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
• No waiver: Our failure to exercise or enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right.
• Entire agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding your use of the Service.
